Few birds -2 chiffchaff, 2 jay, blackbird, wren.

Butterflies -30+ small skipper, 50+ meadow brown, narrow bordered five spot burnet -much fewer than recently -about 20.
Numerous grasshoppers chirping -first in any number this year.

Flowering plants -bramble,white clover, red clover, ragged robin, common spotted orchid, fox and cubs, hogweed, common vetch, creeping thistle, marsh thistle, spear thistle, great willowherb, rosebay willowherb,common bird's foot trefoil, narrow leaved bird's foot trefoil, common melitot.
