Biking and birding

Post by ianball »

Did a cycling tour via Ulnes Walton, Wymott, Bretherton Eyes, Croston Sewage Works, and then home for a walk round Common Bank Lodge with the puppy.

Highlights were also getting Lesser Whitethroat at Wymott, as well as Common Sandpiper flying along the River Douglas at the metal bridge.

These 2 birds bring up my ton :-)

Other sightings were Swallow in Ulnes Walton, and lots of Blackcaps seemingly everywhere.

Around the lodge it was great to hear and see a pair of Willow Tit, and the Garden Warbler was present again, very close to where I had previously seen/heard it. Also 3 Blackcaps and vocal Nuthatch - but again very little on the lodge itself.

Thanks John. Still a way to go to catch you, but great what a couple of weeks off work can do for listing :-)
