Parked at wht coppice. Saw Tawny Owl. 2Song thrush. 1Mistlethrush. Goldfinch. M.pipits. Chiffchaff. W.Warbler. 4Linnets. Chaffinch. Pied Wagtsil. Had a good look but no sign of Ring ouzel.

Decided to walk on the moors to Gt. Hill .what a mistake. It was blowing a gale so about a third of the way we decided not to carry on but to go across the moors instead to Brinscall.

We had Curlew & lots of Meadow Pipits. And a surprise pr of Canada geese who had no intention of flying off.


No Red Grouse etc.

Into Heatherly woods. Heard a Tawny owl call. Blue /Coal./Gt. & Lg.t.Tits. Wren. Robin. W.warbler . & Chiffchaff. 2 Pr. Nuthatch. No Wood Warbler. Heard Pheasant. 1ROE DEER.

No sign of any Woodwarbler.
