Brinscall to Abbey Village field trip

A dozen members enjoyed the first evening walk of the season on the nature trail along the former railway line from Brinscall to Abbey Village on a fine sunny evening. Full sightings:-
Birds:- Mallard 4, Grey Heron, Oystercatcher 2, Lapwing 6, BH Gull, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Magpie, Jackdaw, Crow, Swift min 3, Swallow, House Martin (several at both Withnell & Abbey Village), Chiffchaff 3, Willow Warbler 10, Blackcap 2, Whitethroat, Goldcrest, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Nuthatch, Wren, Robin, Dunnock, Blackbird, Song Thrush 4, House Sparrow, Starling, Pied Wagtail, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Reed Bunting
Insects:- Alder Leaf Beetle, Early Bumble Bee, Tree Bumble Bee (at nest box)

Also Common Buzzard & eggs of Dock Leaf Beetle.

In flower-Thyme leaved speedwell,dandelion,common mouse ear,water avens,wood avens/herb bennet,also water x wood avens,ribwort plantain,bush vetch,ladies smock,meadow b'cup,creeping b'cup,jack by the hedge,forget me not,daisy,cow parsley,common sorrel,marsh?thistle,wavy bittercress,marsh marigold,herb robert,opp.l.g.sax,ramsons,great stitchwort,fringe cups,bistort,bluebell,welsh poppy,l.celandine,red campion,hogweed,red clover,gorse,sweet violet(or early dog?)
