I can't remember seeing a Cuckoo in the trees across the road from my front garden in the twenty years I've been here.

But today while cutting my front garden lawn I did see a Cuckoo...(13:50 Lupin close)...

It may be one of the ones from White Coppice. I reported seeing one flying towards your area and coming back in the evening the other week.

Supporting what you said, Len, I saw a Cuckoo flying over the A674 by the canal tonight.

It was 750pm and was on a direct line from Whittle towards the Great Knowley quarry (or onwards to White Coppice).
