Eyes Lane 30/10

Post by John Frankland »

Early morning visit was good for birds of prey.

Highlight was a female Merlin. Couple of distant views before she shot through the Skylarks fairly close 200m and then returned to land in the field 100m from the bridge. Watched her for 10-15 minutes with great views.

Also through was a Peregrine. Together with a Kestrel and Buzzard, this made a good selection. Later added a Sparrowhawk but this was out of area.

Also seen were Corn Bunting, Skylark, Linnet, Herring Gull, Lapwing, Cormorant, Teal, Redwing and Starling together with usual Pheasant, Woodpigeon, Corvids and Mallard.
