Cuckoo feeding on former quarry at tea time, however 2 Magpies harrassing it. Grasshopper Warbler singing until 11.30 on 5th. May.
Lots of Green Veined White and Orange Tipped White Butterflies about.

Numerous orange tip -counted at least 10; peacock; speckled wood- on reclaimed quarry.
No skylark on what was once a breeding site -though thought a heard one singing from a adjacent road yesterday, so needs further observation.

Scores -probably hundreds -of six spot burnet moth on red clover, common vetch and marsh thistle.

Definitely one pair of Skylark remain. I have seen/heard the male sing on a number of occasions in the early morning.
