Volucella inflata hoverfly

On Echinops ritro in afternoon sunshine, Gt Knowley garden; according to a few websites on insects "The Nationally Scarce Volucella inflata is largely confined south of a line between the Severn and The Wash" so I could have misidentified -or perhaps they're moving north?

or could be V. pellucens which is apparently commoner, and the two species are difficult to tell apart.

V inflata is more Orange on abdomen segment T2.
