A good morning on the moss with plenty of birds around, the highlight being a herd of 40 Whooper Swans feeding in the Loch Meadow area. There were at least 12 juveniles. Pink-footed Geese were again feeding in good numbers over towards the wind turbines. Flocks of various sizes included Woodpigeon, corvids, Linnet, Skylark and Starling. Full sightings:-
Whooper Swan 40, Mute Swan 2, PF Geese, Mallard, Buzzard (6 sightings), Sparrowhawk, Kestrel 2, Pheasant 10+, Cormorant over, Grey Heron, BH Gull, LBB Gull, Woodpigeon, Stock Dove, Collared Dove, GS Pecker, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Fieldfare c20, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Robin, Wren, Stonechat 3, Blue, Great, Willow and Long-tailed Tit, Starling, Magpie, Jay, Jackdaw, Crow, Tree Sparrow, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Linnet, Reed Bunting, Corn Bunting, Yellowhammer
Mammal:- Brown Hare
