200 plus Pink-footed Geese were feeding on Mawdesley Moss, plus hundreds each of Woodpigeon, corvids and Starlings. Around the feeding station were several each of Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Tree Sparrow and Collared Dove. A covey of 6 Grey Partridge was on the large field by the Douglas. Raptor sightings included 6 of Kestrel and three of Buzzard. Good numbers of Skylark were distributed around the moss including one in full song. Also seen were Grey Wagtail, Meadow Pipit, Wren, Robin, Dunnock, Blue Tit, Linnet and Yellowhammer.
Mammal:- Rabbit
Fungi:- several fields had large numbers of what I assume were Field Mushrooms Agaricus campestris. They varied from emerging fruit with deeply concave white caps to specimens with flat caps up to 100 mm diameter with dark brown giils and white stems up to 100 mm high.
Grey Partridge takes me to 126 and Nora to 124
