Croston Home Farm/North Park

Post by Paul Whittaker »

At home for most of the day so not much to report.
Lots of Woodpigeon massing in the tree tops around the Park in the late afternoon. Estimate from my view point between 600/700. This has been a daily event over the past month or so. At dusk they move off onto the moss whilst large numbers of Jackdaw head in the opposite direction (East).
Tawny Owls calling late afternoon and my first Greenfinch this year came to the garden with the usual suspects including a nice flock of 12 Long-tailed Tits.
My year list goes up by 2 to 48.
Could swear I heard a Chiffchaff singing early this afternoon near the river but maybe just wishful thinking!
