Croston/Mawdesley Moss:
Flock of between 500and 700 Pink Footed Geese took up from Mawdesley Moss in two huge flocks and landed on Croston Moss in the field adjacent the River Douglas. I gave them a thorough scan but could not make out anything other than Pink Foots, approx. 40 Skylark, several smallish flocks of Linnet up to 20 birds in each. 3 Wren on the banks of drainage ditches. 2 Reed Bunting, several Pheasant, 1 Little Grebe on a drainage ditch (same location as last Sunday), 1 Kestrel, Robin, Dunnock, Chaffinch, Magpie, Collared Dove, flock of around 80 Woodpigeon. Carrion Crow, Rook & Blackbird.
No sign of Little Owl, Short Eared Owl or Barn Owl.
Twin Lakes area:
At least 6 Gadwall, 1 Wigeon, 1 Teal, 1 Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, 2 Moorhen, 3 Mute Swan, 6 Canada Geese, several BH Gulls and many Coot. Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Robin, Dunnock, Pied Wagtail and Long Tailed Tit.
Flock of approx. 20 Fieldfare at north east side of Croston.
