As Len mentioned the wigeon and gadwall were still present , i did,nt get to close, only spotted 4 gadwall but there seemed to be plenty of wigeon scattered around just hope they stick around for the new year  , checked out croston reedbed in hope of hearing a water rail or the off chance of a bittern but no luck there then headed to croston finney were there was only 2 mallard and one female goosander on the douglas ( still high water levels ) several hundred pinkfoot just over the river , 2 buzzard , 1 kestrel , 7 snipe , 100 skylark in one flock , lots of finches and buntings on the double hedgerow , 1 heron .
