Bretherton eyes / croston finney.

Bretherton eyes was very quiet went in hope of a jack snipe on the large rough field checked most of the field with my dog and flushed not a single bird! only a few corvids and meadow pipit about .
Croston finney was far more productive 14 goosander , 6 mallard and 10 teal on the douglas , 13 snipe , 40 skylark , 40 meadow pipit , 200 linnet , plenty of finches and buntings in the double hedgerow no sign of any brambling yet , 200 pinkfoot , 20 fieldfare , 50 starling , blue , great tits and a few tree sparrows at the feeding station , 1 gs pecker , 2 buzzard , 2 kestrel , 1 merlin ( carrying prey ) ,1 little owl , flushed a single hare , and had a great view of a stoat with its kill a half grown rabbit :D .

A good list of sightings Gary, I'll have to pay a visit to croston myself shortly . I had s jack snipe at the lily pond this morning along with 2 common snipe, not much else out of the ordinary though.

Forgot to mention a flock of 20 stock dove seen as well .
