Eccleston Yarrow Goosander

Post by David Banks »

I spoke to John Edwards yesterday and we were both concerned the Goosanders had not been seen for 2 weeks or more. We both noted that Mink are seen more and more on this section of the Yarrow and I assumed that this years brood had been unsuccessful. Within 30 minutes of speaking to John I saw another Mink and then the Female Goosander with 8 healthy looking youngsters. They have grown so much and appear to be thriving. A brill surprise after not seeing them for so long. I saw them again this morning in the same place.
