Bird behaviour .
Watching the swans and little grebe at astley park today the swans were feeding their young by picking grass from the banks and dropping it in the water for their young to feed on ( 6 cygnets ) also watched the grebes for a while both birds were sat on the lily pads the male started to bring nest material and place the vegetation on the back of the female the female seemed to ignore the males advances at first but a little later on both were building their nest , 1 adult and 1 juv dipper on the chor , went to birkacre tip were a swallow was nesting in one of the cabins also several swallow nesting at the entrance to birkacre garden centre were there was also a very tame robin making noises ive never heard before ( the bird was acting in a very strange behaviour )
