New Atlas of Breeding and Wintering Birds of Lancashire

Post by Neil Southworth »

Members will be aware that the BTO has recently completed fieldwork for a national Atlas of Breeding and Wintering Birds, which is to be published this autumn.
Contemporaneously with this and sharing much of the data, supplemented by additional fieldwork, Lancashire and Cheshire Fauna Society has produced a New Atlas of Breeding and Wintering Birds of Lancashire. Chorley Nats and its members have contributed greatly to the project, which is duly acknowledged in the publication. The New Atlas will only be published electronically, and can be accessed on the Lancashire and Cheshire Fauna Society web site, by following the link to 'Birds' at www.lacfs.org.uk
There are 10 Parts to the Atlas which can be downloaded as pdf files (free of charge!). It's a fantastic publication by Steve White and his team, and is highly recommended.
