Parked up the car near Brookside cottages, then walked along heapey no. 3 lodge then southwest along the public footpath to Higher House Lane, South down Higher House Lane to Hollin Lane, back towards Brookside Cottages then along Coppice lane to White Coppice and a circuit around the cricket field.
Birds seen/heard included two pairs of Goldeneye on No. 3 lodge, Moorhen, Rook, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Blackbird, Song Thrush & Mistle Thrush heard, small mixed flock of 10 to 15 Redwing & Fieldfare, Blue Tits nest building, two Wrens, Lesser Redpoll heard singing near No 3 Lodge and again near the Goit, Nuthach,Robin, heard Goldfinch singing, Great Spotted Woodpecker heard drumming midway between Brookside Cottages & No. 6 lodge, Greenfinch, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, 2 Reed Bunting on former no 8 lodge, Mallard, Kestrel, Skylark. Lesser Spotted Woodpecker drumming & calling between Hollin Lane and Heapey No 3 lodge.
