Dawn on Anglezarke Moor.

Post by gary lilley »

Arrived at white coppice at 6.30am and headed straight to the moors it was very calm and still on the tops as the sun appeared but the sound of red grouse soon broke the silence , the birds were calling all around me with several birds flying around ( i would estermate 10/20 birds in an area of several hundred yards square) the call of the curlew was heard several times and i spotted 2 birds flying , there was lots of meadow pipit on their breeding ground with plenty of birds singing and smaller numbers of skylark , 1 snipe , 4 canada geese , 3 pheasant , 1 partridge , 1 hare
White coppice , 2 dipper , 1 grey wagtail , 2 stock dove , several crows and mallard , 2 gs pecker , heard lesser redpoll which brings my chorley list to 96 species .
