River Douglas 25.2.12

Decided for a change to walk along the Douglas from Great Hanging Bridge to Rufford and return through Croston Moss.

Birds along the river were similar to Gary's with 15 Teal, a few Mallard and Canada Geese, 12 Oystercatcher and 2 Redshank being seen. Skylark were singing virtually the whole of the time I was out, and all three species of Bunting were heard singing. Other sightings:-

Skein of c100 Pink-feet very high heading north-east, Moorhen, Lapwing 10, Buzzard, Kestrel, Woodpigeon 50+, Stock Dove 4, Meadow Pipit c20, Skylark c50, Pied wagtail 3, Mistle Thrush 2, Redwing 12, Magpie, Jay, Jackdaw, Crow, Starling 150, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Linnet min 200, Yellowhammer 6, Reed Bunting, Corn Bunting 4
