Duxbury Woods 19.2.12

Post by Neil Southworth »

Dendrocopos major sed non minor in silva Duxburiensis. Just a bit of Latin so Andy can understand it. :D

Went more in hope than expectation to look for the Holy Grail, but needless to say no luck. Two or three Great Spots were drumming (or one very mobile bird). Other highlights included 2 Dipper on the river, 2 Buzzard over the woods, Tawny Owl, Nuthatch on every tree (or so it seemed), Treecreeper, Goldcrest, several squawking Jays, singing Song Thrush and Mistle Thrush.
Mammals:- Rabbit and 3 Grey Squirrel
