Croston/mawdesley moss .

Around 100 golden plovers were still present on the large grass field near the Douglas , on the river , 7 goosander , 30+ teal , 10+ mallard , 4 shellduck , 3 cormorant , pair of grey partridge on the bank of the river, 1 g bb gull following the river , a single peregrine disturbed a flock of skylark , 3 buzzard , 1 kestrel , 1 heron , plenty of yellowhammer , 2 corn bunting , a flock of twittering linnet flew over at quite a height , 30 stock dove , later on i spotted several flocks of golden plover heading towards rufford/ burscough ( around 200 birds ).

Hi Gary. Have you seen any Twite on the Moss. Last time we went a lady in a car said she thought she had seen a flock of Twite last week . But we only saw Linnets. Nora.

Ive never seen any twite on the moss but it would not surprize me if there is a few with the hundreds of linnet which are in the area .
