Short Eared Owl - Mawdesley

Post by Leonard Poxon »

Went to Mawdesley Moss to see the Short Eared Owls 15:15 to 16:00. As previously reported they were mainly on the Rufford side of the River Douglas, but with occasional forays onto the Mawdesley side. Two owls were seen. Other birds included large flocks of Pink Footed Geese, coming from a ESE direction, a flock of 22 Fieldfare on the Mawdesley side of the Douglas, Kestrel, Grey Wagtail, Song Thrush, Robin and a very large flock of corvids heading towards the moss to roost.
