Yarrow Valley Park 31.12.11

Post by duxbury rambler »

What a morning - we have been wet most mornings but it never let up today.
The small birds seemed very glad to see me I scattered plenty about the new feeding area - I got rid of a 1Kg of sunflower hearts this morning, countless Blue & Great Tits, coal tits, chaffinch, magpie, 3 Nuthatch and 4 fighting Robins.

Found Cow Parsley in flower, Hogweed in flower (think it was the one Bryan found) too wet to photograph.

Then the camera had to make an appearance -

Lesser Celandine if it is still there tomorrow it will be first on the 2012 list.

The Hogweed was looking very miserable today, waterlogged in fact, the flowers were showing well a few days ago with a nice pinky-tinge to them.

Saw the Cormorant in flight over Primrose hill heading roughly in the direction of Duxbury wood.
