Plenty of water in the flashes as might be expected, but no wildfowl on them. All the Canada Geese (50) and Mallard (54) were out on the fields. There was no sign of Teal, and I was beginning to assume that they had left during the freeze at the beginning of the month. But then the clay pigeon shoot started, and suddenly from nowhere a flock of around 40 Teal was whizzing around. On the stubble field there were large numbers of corvids, Woodpigeons and Starlings, plus 100 or so MBJ's which I assume were Fieldfare. Better take the scope next time. Other sightings:- Buzzard, Pheasant, flock of 15 LT Tits and a couple of Nuthatch
