Croston finney .
Very windy this morning which made it a little harder finding the birds, as i was driving down meadow lane i spotted a large raptor flying over the finney it looked like a possible harrier (marsh) but i could not be 100% sure , i did manage 4 different raptors , kestrel , sparrowhawk , buzzard and a good view of a peregrine in hot pursuit of what looked like a skylark , the double hedgerow held lots of finches again , counted 17 tree sparrows at the feeding station , around 15 red legged partridge were on a stubble field , several small flocks of pinkfoot , 1 little grebe on the large drainage ditch , flock of around 100 linnet were buzzing around finney lane , on my way back i spotted 3 whooper swans on a flooded stubble field next to the douglas as i was watching the swans another six birds dropped in to join them ( great site and noise) .
