Cold , bright , not many birds but one great sighting.
13 Meadow pipit.
18 chaffinch .
2 goldcrest.
3 raven.
15 redwing.
57 fieldfare.
2 wren.
3 crow.
5 reed bunting.
1 redpoll.
3 jackdaw.
several jay heard in the woods near the pike.
2 robin.
7 starling.
4 siskin.
1 peregrine , highlight of the morning , i spotted the bird in hot pursuit of what looked like a collard dove , the peregrine was only a few feet away from its victim before the dove crashed landed into a pine tree , the peregrine quickly did a u turn before heading back over the moors flying low .
I spent 45 mins with 4 of the manchester birders looking out over rivington res , they had not spotted much but did have 3 whooper swans over the reservoir.
