2 goldcrest , 1 buzzard , 1 kestrel , 10 blackbird , 1 heron , 2 moorhen , 6 magpie , 2 jay , 2 tawny owl roosting in their favourite sycamore tree , the birds were no more than 18 inches apart , as anybody else seen more than one tawny owl roosting together before ? also 2 mistle thrush feeding on a ornamental rowan tree ( the same tree had waxwing feeding on it the other year)

Hi Gary, yes I've seen two tawnys roosting together on a few occasions but allways in the breeding season, I think when the owlets start to grow and the nesthole gets cramped the female will roost with the male, thats only my theory though I could be completely wrong!! As you probably know Gary tawnys make claim to their territories at this time of year thats why they're so vocal, so it could be your local pair getting back on territory.
