Rivington ,Georges Lane Vis Mig watchpoint 7.30/10.00am.

Cloudy at times , slight breeze, spent nearly 2 hours in one spot ( high above the lane) birds spotted,
3 goldcrest , minimum count , birds heard in conifer plantations.
2 robin,heard singing.
1 wren , heard singing.
18 meadow pipit, highest count of 6 birds together.
7 chaffinch .
1 reed bunting, heard calling flying over.
2 raven.
4 crow.
1 jay.
1 magpie.
8 redwing , expecting larger numbers.
3 pied wagtail , 2 birds flew over high up heading towards winter hill.
313 pinkfooted geese, all heading roughly eastward .
5 cormorant.
7 bullfinch , flew over calling 2 ,2, 3.
1 yellowhammer , heard calling flying over.
20 starling, heading west at speed.
1 stonchat.
1 woodpigeon .
1 lesser redpoll, heard calling flying over.
3 crossbill , 3 sightings of single birds ( could possibly have been the same bird) .
the crossbill sighting brings my chorley year list up to 131 species.
