7-45 to 9-30,
Started off dry then rained towards the end, best birds were 2 Gooseander which flew off the river also 21 mallard, 3 Moorhen, 5 Teal, 23 Pinkfeet flew over, 9 Redwing, 12 Goldfinch, 33 Jackdaws and 12 sightings of Jays. While I was momentarily distracted a small flock of c25 birds flew past I'm certain they were Fieldfare though they were out of sight before I could get my binos onto them, would be interested to know if anyone has had any in the area yet?

John,

Fieldfare were reported from Great Knowley last Wednesday (10th). They are usually a week or so later than Redwing, but the main arrival of both species should be during this week.

Thanks Neil, we usually get plenty around here so I won't tick them untill I get a definite sighting.
