Strange hole in lawn

Post by Mike Greenhalgh »

A hole about one inch in diameter has appeared in the lawn in my back garden. It seems to be at least 5 or 6 inches deep. There are no signs of spoil or runs across the grass.

Does anyone have any ideas what could have created it?[/img]

either a mole or a vole.

If it keeps getting bigger then sit watching early morning, if you see movement hit it with a shovel, then you will know.

Maybe a Grey Squirrel, the ones in my garden are constantly digging holes in my lawn - maybe they think they are looking for their nuts - they will be if I get hold of one!

Tony, I am revising my theory: I now believe it was most likely to be an alien lobworm.
