The pale bird seen with the jackdaws and the odd crow last week would appear to be a crow.Does anyone agree ?

Botany Bay buzzard.

A second buzzard was one Roscoe's farm land.

Today this one was nearly over my house.

Chris,

It could be the same Carrion Crow I saw last winter near Heapey No. 3 lodge and again on the 6th. November this year also near Heapey No. 3.

Good photo btw.

Possibly not, the bird I saw looks darker on the upper back. But I never got very close to it.

If you look at the BTO web site - www.bto.org - , you will find details on the Home page of a survey they're doing on birds with abnormal plumage, which you might find interesting.

You can see many birds with abnormal plumage in Chorley town centre on a Saturday night.
