Post by gary lilley »

Had a good couple of hours this morning, birds spotted:- 60 pinkfoot came in and landed on the stubble , 2 heron , 1 moorhen , 2 snipe , a flock of around 60 stock dove is probably the biggest flock ive ever seen , flocks of 20 and 60 of linnet with plenty of reed bunting and tree sparrow and the odd corn bunting , spotted a female stonechat twice ( its only the second one ive seen on the moss) , peregrine on another pylon , 1 kestrel , buzzard still making juvenile noises , highlight of the morning was a hunting female merlin which was hunting skylark over the stubble fields there was around 100 skylarks in the area but the merlin failed on its attempt also a covey of 13 grey partridge .
