Quickie@YVP

Post by Bryan Thomas »

A quickie visit to YVP at noon today yielded some rich rewards. Standing on the viewing platform at the Top Lodge the unmistakeable electric blue tracer bullet flight of a solitary kingfisher crossing from right to left on the lodge was wonderful to see.

At the Big Lodge the cormorant was fishing then suddenly took flight directly from the water flying the remaing length of the lodge only to dissappear over the tree line close to the visitor centre. Almost immediately a Buzzard flew overhead possibly no less than 40 feet above me heading in the direction of Drybones wood.

Mammals: me, 2 grey squirrels, no bunnies.
