Garden butterflies

Last year i planted some purple flowers(type unknown) which are in flower from early summer and these have multiplied 10 fold.over the last week they have attracted butterflies in unprecedented numbers for my garden.
At any time there have been up to 5 Small Tortoiseshells, 3 Red Admiral, 2 late Comma's and a Peacock feeding on the flowers.
