Yarrow Valley Park:- juvenile Water Rail showing well on the edge of the reed bed on Top Lodge, appearing to be doing quite a bit of flycatching. Also Grey Heron, Pr GC Grebes and juvenile, Nuthatch, Jay and LT Tit. The adult Mute Swan was again chasing the young swan around Big Lodge.

White Coppice:- Pied Wagtail 8, several Swallow, GS Pecker, Dipper, Chiffchaff, Nuthatch, Goldfinch and Lesser Redpoll

Withnell Fold Nature Reserve and Flash:- A new pool has formed away from the traditional flash and was attracting large numbers of Lapwings c120, BH Gulls c400, Starlings c160 and corvids c100 (Jackdaws and Crows). Also seen at the flash Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Woodpigeon, Stock Dove, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Swallow, Goldfinch and Brown Hare. On the reserve - Chiffchaff (singing), Nuthatch and flock of LT Tits.

Home:- A Jay was in the garden this afternoon which is fairly unusual. Also a part eggshell which must have been from a recently hatched Woodpigeon or Collared Dove.
