Croston sewage works and twin lakes

Post by gary lilley » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:50 pm

Several chiffchaff in hawthorn near the sewage works , 1 piedwagtail and at least 3 grey partridge in the sewage works grounds .
Nearby fields , 20+ treesparrows ,20+ linnet smaller numbers of yellowhammer and reed bunting , 1 kestrel , 1 buzzard , highlight was a single sedge warbler which was skulking in a ditch were reeds were growing,
didnt get to check out the lakes as there were 2 people shooting , they were looking for canada geese ( they said there has been up to 2000 in nearby stubble fields )
