mawdesley moss.

Post by gary lilley » Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:23 pm

Not the best weather but the moss produced some good birds yet again ,birds spotted , 3 buzzard , 2 kestrel , 1 sparrowhawk , 13 partridge in one covey ( not sure what species ) 1 wheatear , 2 tree sparrow , small numbers of reed bunting ,1 meadow pipit , highlight was a huge flock of 200/300 linnet which were spending most of their time near the farmers bench ( quite a sight and sound) also 1 stoat on wood/nook lane and found 2 dead hares close to each other one half eaten ( very suspicious) on the way home to eccleston 1 gspecker heard goldcrest ( more than one) and nuthatch.
