Hi All,
Strolled the big lodge last night with my binocs, , Kingfisher flew the length of the lodge AND
there was at least one great crested grebe chick on the back of one of the parents, nice to watch the other dive & pass food over, also the carrying party was catching midges and with the twist of the head seem to feed them to the young.
Cheers Eddie
Great Crested Grebe

Watched Dad feeding a small fish to the youngster this afternoon. Definitely seems to be just the one, but at least it's one better than the previous few years!
Common Tern still seems to be incubating. Must be due to hatch any day. Watched it launch a ferocious attack on two BHG's which had strayed too close.
Also seen on Big Lodge:- Kingfisher, several Swallow and House Martin surface feeding, Grey Wagtail, pair swans with two cygnets, c 30 BHG, 50% of which were juveniles.
On Top Lodge:- Grey Heron, Mute Swan
