Evening Visit

Post by Janice Sutton »

A Leveret was feeding close to the road, and a Roe deer knew where to cross next to the Deer Crossing road sign.Expecting a large Whimbrel roost but only 2 individuals had arrived before dark, Also seen Ringed plover , Common Sandpiper, Ruff, and Dunlin in breeding plumage.

There are leverets around the compound together with adults regularly making an appearance in the same area even when there are loads of people about. The Whimbrel roost has been significantly down this year. Bill (Aspin) says they have all decamped to Barnacre meadows this year!
