Post by nora west »

. Eddie Langrish found a plant he couldnt I D .and sent me a photo. I didnt know as it isnt in full flower so I asked Carol Winder who ID it as Twayblade. I went to see the plant today, and there were lots more sm ones (eddie says hes counted 150). . Wood off L.B.Meadow. I know David you wanted open flowers, but Eddie asked me to put it on Web site. As its a good find i said i would.

Found them Nora a bit farther than the Helleborine we spoke of, great find for Eddie, can't wait to see them flower. :D

David you may already know but I thought I would mention that the Latin name for Twayblade has recently changed to Neottia ovata just for the records.

Thanks for the ID on the twayblade. I was always pathetic at Latin when at school so I tend to keep to the English version. Fortunately when we enter the record on mapmate it also gives the scientific name as well
