Eccleston , bannister green , woodcock surprize!

Post by gary lilley »

Highlight of this afternoon,s walk was flushing 3 woodcock all within seconds of each other , the birds were in a small wooded area( 100m bye50m) i,d flushed a bird a few weeks ago in the same wood so i was confident of seeing at least one bird today , as i was walking through the wood i spotted the first bird running from under a holly bush as it took up another bird from behind me took up (also from under a holly bush) and within seconds the third bird got up ( about 20 feet from the second bird) again from under a holly bush , ive flushed 2 birds together before and seen 2 birds flying together before on several occasions but nether witnessed 3 together in such a small area at the same time , a real surprize!
heskin hall area , 3 cock pheasant , heard nuthatch , 1 stock dove , heard bullfinch , 19 feral pigeon around the farm buildings .
