I was interested to read the reports on the Hic Bibi local nature reserve and thiught I would have a look for myself.
Just before I was about to leave I heard an almighty thud at the rear of the house. On investigating I found a sparrowhawk on the floor partially obscured by one of the planters. As I opened the door to check to see if it was consious if flew of landing on a post in the field at the back of the garden.
A couple of not very good pictures from upstairs later I returned to see what I initially thought was a wren, it turned out to be a garden first in fact a first full stop a goldcrest.
Needless to say Hic Bibi will have to wait for another day
