MORE WAXWINGS!

Post by gary lilley »

Working at foxglove drive (A6 across from doorway to value) all day today ,there are several rowan trees with plenty of berries on , around 9.00am i heard then spotted around 20 waxwing they flew around just over the roof tops but were restless they eventually flew off towards buckshaw , later on in the day ( 2/3.00pm) they turned up but in more numbers this this time around 40 birds again the birds wouldnt settle ( but must have been feeding at times) i would expect to see them again tomorrow , other birds spotted , 100+ redwing , 100 + jackdaw , 1 kestrel , 1 cock pheasant , 1 buzzard , on the way home i spotted a little owl on a roof top on back lane charnock / eccleston not a bad end to a entertaining day!
