Post by gary lilley »

Got rained off this morning so i decided to have a drive around to see if i could find any waxwings i first went to euxton then chorley and adlington only on the way back did i have a stroke of luck at euxton were i spotted a single waxwing on a rowan i quickly pulled in were i found another 4 birds in a nearby tree the birds were at grasmere close near the talbot pub the rowan trees are close to the main road , i also spotted a peregrine on morrisons chimney and a mistle thrush was guarding the berries near fredericks ice cream.

Several seen in Pall Mall (near Ladbrokes) just after dawn on Sunday. Went later - nothing, probably due to amount of traffic. At a private house in Adlington many were seen up to last Thursday but departed having stripped the trees. It's worth having a look around St. Georges Primary School, plenty of various berried trees but nothing spotted as yet. Last year a few were seen around the school.
