Pheasant on the lawn

The goldcrest that has wintered in our garden for the past few years hasn't been seen this year either. :(

The flock of long-tailed tits has increased to six in the garden today. A song thrush has been seen daily along with a wren, 2 robins and 2 dunnocks, nuthatch and blue, great and coal tits, a few chaffinch and goldfinch. The snow has forced the wood pigeon to the feeders but so far I haven't had any collared doves (which have been regular visitors until this year). And just as I was carrying the Christmas food shop into the kitchen, a glance towards the window revealed a beautiful cock pheasant. Not seen one in the garden before.

Any one got a photo of a goldcrest I could use for my blog? If so, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Carol ,

I had the first cock pheasant of the winter calling in the garden this week. He may have been the same bird which was calling in the field last week.

I do have a Goldcrest in my Picasaweb album for you if you cannot get a better one.
