Yarrow Valley Park 20.12.09

Well and truly frozen, with just a very small section of open water on Big Lodge, where all the wildfowl is congregated:-

Mallard 162, Mute Swan 4, Coot 10, Moorhen 7, BH Gull 60 plus plenty of Blackbirds, Robins, Nuthatch, and Dunnock around the feeding stations and a few Chaffinch, Bullfinch, flock of Long-tailed Tits and just one Mistle Thrush, which had managed to get up.

Oi! Another Mistle Thrush was up - she just forgot to go to Birkacre that's all...!

early afternoon, small carpark at side of visitor ctr, were lots of blackbirds, 3 songthrushes, several robins, tits & dunnocks, and a flock of 20+ redwings.
