around 600 woodpigeon passed over first thing heading eastward also a single heron was being mobbed by a black headed gull.
eccleston mini starling roost , its somthing i have viewed for some years now but never reported there is only around 20 birds in the roost but they behave in the exact manner if there was thousands in the flock they fly around for several minutes about 20 feet above the roof tops before dropping into a large conifer tree i have also seen single birds roosting in houses befor now , as anyone seen this behaviour before ?.

Gary,

We don't have a singleton but do have a pair which roost in their nesting site in our roof.

On Saturday night they were badly disturbed. Their sqawking and shuffling woke us up . I hope that it was not a preditor !

Chris.
