Post by gary lilley »

eccleston syd brook fields , 5 snipe, 6 pheasant , 1 hare .
knowles wood , went looking for woodcock , i checked nearly every holly and rodedendron bush in the wood without any definite sightings (twice i spotted a bit of movement under the hollys which could have been woodcock but also pheasant ).
fields close to spring wood, i entered one field and flushed around 30 snipe the surprizing factor was they were all gathered quite cose to the hedgeline in what was a large field maybe they were sheltering from the weather.
mawdesley , large numbers of woodpigeon still on the moss also 3 juv swan trying to land near the canal on the rufford/ mawdesley boundry most probably mute swan.
