Balsam Bash Day & Coach trip

Post by Eddie Langrish »

Hi All,
Lower Burgh Meadow Conservation Group are holding their 4th Anuual Balsam bash day on Sunday June 8th.
Meet the kissing gate just before the recycling / tip on Lower Burgh Way at 9-45am till 3pm or when you have had enough :D
Late comers - we will be working 50 mtrs into the wood on the Left of the path, as you go through the kissing gate.

The group has now practically cleared all Balsam from the woodland from tip to Kissing gate at the top of Burgh Hall road, which had a 30% coverage, walking the wood on work days this year and next will probably see the odd balsam left pulled out.
Native growth has returned, along with the wildlife.

The day will be spent pulling balsam by hand, in the areas the strimmer could not get to a couple of days previous, iE round trees etc.

Towneley Hall & Gardens Coach trip - we still have some tickets left for this trip - £15.00 with guided tour of the hall, £10.00 without.
Click this link for further details http://www.lowerburghmeadowconservation ... ach-trips/ or ring me on 01257 232100.

Thanks Eddie

Thanks to all who supported the coach trip, we had a great day out.
The Balsam bash event yesterday was successful, with a possibility of two new members of the public joining the group.
We cleared approximately 3000 square yards of the stuff.

Cheers Eddie
